WETLANDS RESTORATION PROJECT

The increasing deterioration of wetlands in Ghana inspired us to pioneer the Wetlands Restoration Project. Through the vision of the project, we have been able to conduct a screening of the Muni Pomadze Ramsar site. The screening helped us to identify some anthropogenic-driven conditions that are causing wetlands to deteriorate. We have successfully conducted landcover land use research that identified the extent of land-use change. Among other factors, our team has identified urban encroachment as a key issue impeding wetlands.

GHANA WETLANDS SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE

The Ghana Wetlands Sustainability Conference is a youth-focused engagement on wetlands geared towards promoting student participation in the Ramsar Convention and SDG 15. Our team has done an outstanding job of raising student awareness about the sustainable use of wetlands, with a strong emphasis on individual (s) roles in contributing to wetlands sustainability in Ghana and beyond. We have reached over 1,500 young people in Ghana and ensured community education on wetlands.

WORLD POPULATION DAY 2023

World population issues have become a pressing concern in recent times. With the global population surpassing 7.9 billion, several challenges have emerged. Rapid population growth strains limited resources, leading to issues such as food insecurity, water scarcity, and inadequate healthcare. Overpopulation also contributes to environmental degradation, habitat destruction, and climate change.

In this episode of our Future Climate Dialogue, we will be commemorating World Population Day. Our team of young climate enthusiasts will be discussing ways the world could build resilience and a prosperous future for people and the planet as the global population surges.
